algorithm ov void

algorithm of void is my one-person project founded in 2009. musically it may be described as depressive industial minimalist bm, but highly influenced by cosmic themes (some say that is just ambient black metal, i have nothing against this term too). the main assumption with this project was to create something as negative as garden of sadness in question of feelings, but approaching from completely different side. while my main project is highly introverted and focused on my personal issues, algorithm ov void tries to look more widely at nonsense of existence of small and worthless humanity (and all of its problems) in infinity of cosmos. the only material released until now is 2-song ep from 2010 (mc by depressive illusions records).

review of "we are all nothing" from Encyclopaedia Metallum - www.metal-archives.com (july 2013):

Might Not Meet All Your Standards - 66%
Welcome yet another Depressive Illusions band, Algorithm ov Void. If you are familiar with the music usually released on Depressive Illusions, you have no need to continue reading. You probably have a good idea of what I will say.
This demo is the definition of monotony. You will be listening to the same basic guitar riff the whole length of each song. The title track does have an instrumental space ambient beginning which spices things up. There are tempo changes within the songs so that you are not listening to the same drum track the whole time. There does seem to be bass guitar or at least an additional layer of guitar bass notes for the chords played. The vocals are distorted and mixed to be rather quiet. It’s as if he was just talking instead of screaming.
Among with the simplistic musicality, there is a sense of dissonant peace. An atmosphere is created from the slow tempo of the guitars. When I delve into this atmosphere, I feel the need to complete some cosmic puzzle in a Tron-like environment. The purpose of this musical style is to transport you into another world and I feel this album has the ability to do that, however I have to try to be in the world instead of just relaxing and enjoying the ride.
The production factor of this album, along with almost every other Depressive Illusions album, has pretty poor production levels. The good news is that all the instruments and vocals are easily identifiable. I bet if I understood Polish I could understand the lyrics, because the vocals sound rather clean despite being distorted. This album is alright, but might not meet all of your standards.

review of "we are all nothing" from MachineGun Zine (webzine) (february 2012):

Algorithm ov Void – We Are All Nothing EP, 2010
Lubię takie rzeczy. Minimalistyczny, powolny ambient black metal. Muzyka pełna przestrzeni, hipnotyzująca. Nie ma tu miejsca na techniczne popisy. Istotna jest tylko atmosfera, kreowana przez specyficzne brzmienie i pomysły muzyków.
Stojący za Algorithm ov Void Marek (znany z depresyjno blackowego Garden of Sadness) zabiera nas w 24 minutową podróż, zamkniętą w dwóch utworach o zbliżonej długości.
W podróży poprzez próżnię, nasz przewodnik (w języku polskim) odkrywa przed nami poczucie nicości, pustki życia i zagubienia w świecie. Wokale – mgliste, lekko schowane skrzeki – można traktować jako kolejny instrument, efekt dźwiękowy. Pasują do muzyki.
OCENA: 8/10 dezel

review of "we are all nothing" from METAL STORM - www.metalstorm.net (march 2011):

Algorithm Ov Void - We Are All Nothing
Algorithm Ov Void play slow, droning (Depressive) Black metal with slow, droning harsh growls and slow, repetitive drums. We Are All Nothing is as new and fresh as your grandma. Ok, so they're not going to win any prizes for originality, but they are fairly enjoyable. The guitar has a nice 'slit my wrists, now sinking into a warm bath to meet my much desired end'-tone to it (yes, there's a particular tone for that) and the two songs meander forwards in a very soothing manner, enough to completely zone out to. We Are All Nothing is everything but groundbreaking, but for the diehard fan of the genre it'll provide twenty minutes of good, clean fun.
