If you are familiar with the music usually released on Depressive Illusions, you have no need to continue reading. You probably have a good idea of what I will say.
This demo is the definition of monotony. You will be listening to the same basic guitar riff the whole length of each song. The title track does have an instrumental space ambient beginning which spices things up. There are tempo changes within the songs so that you are not listening to the same drum track the whole time. There does seem to be bass guitar or at least an additional layer of guitar bass notes for the chords played. The vocals are distorted and mixed to be rather quiet. It s as if he was just talking instead of screaming.
Among with the simplistic musicality, there is a sense of dissonant peace. An atmosphere is created from the slow tempo of the guitars. When I delve into this atmosphere, I feel the need to complete some cosmic puzzle in a Tron-like environment. The purpose of this musical style is to transport you into another world and I feel this album has the ability to do that, however I have to try to be in the world instead of just relaxing and enjoying the ride.
The production factor of this album, along with almost every other Depressive Illusions album, has pretty poor production levels. The good news is that all the instruments and vocals are easily identifiable. I bet if I understood Polish I could understand the lyrics, because the vocals sound rather clean despite being distorted. This album is alright, but might not meet all of your standards.
benmoshen

*****

review of "we are all nothing" from MachineGun Zine (webzine) (february 2012):

Algorithm ov Void We Are All Nothing EP, 2010
Lubi takie rzeczy. Minimalistyczny, powolny ambient black metal. Muzyka peBna przestrzeni, hipnotyzujca. Nie ma tu miejsca na techniczne popisy. Istotna jest tylko atmosfera, kreowana przez specyficzne brzmienie i pomysBy muzyków.
Stojcy za Algorithm ov Void Marek (znany z depresyjno blackowego Garden of Sadness) zabiera nas w 24 minutow podró|, zamknit w dwóch utworach o zbli|onej dBugo[ci.
W podró|y poprzez pró|ni, nasz przewodnik (w jzyku polskim) odkrywa przed nami poczucie nico[ci, pustki |ycia i zagubienia w [wiecie. Wokale mgliste, lekko schowane skrzeki mo|na traktowa jako kolejny instrument, efekt dzwikowy. Pasuj do muzyki. We Are All Nothing is as new and fresh as your grandma. Ok, so they're not going to win any prizes for originality, but they are fairly enjoyable. The guitar has a nice 'slit my wrists, now sinking into a warm bath to meet my much desired end'-tone to it (yes, there's a particular tone for that) and the two songs meander forwards in a very soothing manner, enough to completely zone out to. We Are All Nothing is everything but groundbreaking, but for the diehard fan of the genre it'll provide twenty minutes of good, clean fun.
by Lucas
